Ryodai

Having been a photographer for nearly 3 decades, I’ve come in and out of hundreds of spells of inspiration or slumps of creative blocks, too many episodes to count. Sometimes I’ll go weeks without even picking up a camera, and other times I won’t dare make a 10-minute run to the supermarket without. Inasmuch, I juggle several other Instagram accounts that are in various states of activeness or hibernation, I have @BrianScottPeterson which I’d say is my main feed, which has inadvertently also become the default catchall feed for another project, Photohoku, but I try to make it about me and my work. There is also one associated with a little-known project called “Accordion Camera”, another for “Picture in Frame”, then my work ones for PechaKucha, and probably even others I’m forgetting. But one of the oldest ones I have is @Zebrio, which is a handle and an undefined concept that keeps evolving and one that I’ve been using for a looooong time. I’m not gonna go into all it is here (which is pretty nebulous), but I’ll just leave it with one word for the moment: “Purple”.

I’m so inspired these days by Tokyo Record Style that I don’t ever want to be without my camera in case I see someone with a record store bag. Now that I’m again in this familiar state of hyper-awareness, anytime I’m cruisin’ around anywhere, I’m always scanning crowds for 1st: Record Store bags, 2nd: The color purple, and 3rd: Everything else. On the occasion I met Ryodai, pictured here in Shimokitazwa, I manage to kill two birds with one stone: a photo for Tokyo Record Style, and one for Zebrio, which has been stalled for a year. Thanks for that Ryodai, and congrats on Art Blakey And The Jazz Messengers (and sorry I was moving too fast not to notice the pile of trash behind you).

Lastly, two of my most favorite things to turn people on to are FIP Radio (France Inter Paris) and Discogs! Happy I could share them with Ryodai. Always remember that all albums photographed for Tokyo Record Style can be referenced on my Discogs list with the same me. Link in bio!
