Meet Miguel who hails from the Catalonia city of architect Antoni Gaudí (of Sagrada Família fam of course, and who I must say to who Miguel bears a striking resemblance san broken-and-taped eyeglasses), Reus, Spain! I’ve only ever heard of Reus by name but have never met and actual Reusenc, so this was quite a prospect! (Side note, Reus is also a famous for its signature Catalan modernism, also as wine-producing region, a rock-climbing mecca, and boasts a millenia-rich history. I wanna go! )
Miguel was carrying a massive haul form Recofan’s new shop in Shibuya Magnet opposite the station. He hd huge spectrum of different kinds of music (and formats too!) most of which were from the cheaper bins, and very little of which that he was actually familiar with, i.e. mostly boght on the change it might (or might not) be good. (Second side note: Cheers to the one who buy music indiscriminately, who love exploring music so much that they’ll take a chance on any half-way interesting looking record! As I was cataloging Miguel’s scores, I was a bit overwhelmed at the daunting task of listening to them all as there are so damn many titles. Rather than throwing one on streaming, it was actually a band I found on Miguel’s hat “Depresión Sonora” that caught my eye …and ear! Great sound – I recommend their song “vivo del aire” off their 2023 E.P. Mala.
