A very big thank you to Nick in Wales at @carefulwiththataxeeugene-fz2ek for taking #JapanVinylTag2024 challenge and for putting forth a great list, filled with some real rockers. I loved this selection, from Uriah Heep to The Ramones, and a 18 great stops in between! I came to get a sense of the kind of person Nick is through his taste of music and I really loved some of the deeper cuts that I think really expressed his personality! Thank you so much NIck for being a part of this Vinyl Tag! Thank you, David Hughes AKA @Mfidelity, for coming to Japan and getting a couple of hangs in! Super huge shoutout to @ichie007for taking the #JapanVinylTag2024 Challenge. It was a huge boon the tag to have such fun, funny, and prominent member of the Vinyl Community participate in this tag. Richie’s list was a wild ride and I came to know by his music selection that his tastes in music really run the gamut. From the Beatles to Harcore Punk (lots of it), from cool garage psych to obscure Japanese-only jazz issues, from country to bossa nova, there was really quite a spread of music. Thanks again Vinyl Richie! It was super fun to get to know you here your contribution! A massive shoutout from Brian in Tokyo (moi) to fellow Brian (AKA Fitz) in Vancouver ‪@ectricbar9268 for jumping into the #JapanVinylTag2024 challenge!! I’m halfway through listening to his selections and couldn’t wait any longer to share my gratitude. So far, Susumu Yokota’s Symbol absolutely blew me away, and Calm - before - いままでのむこうがわ was such a beautiful surprise. I’ve also really enjoyed those first 6-7 entries, including Stranglers IV, Brian Eno’s Another Green World, and of course Beck’s Sea Change! Each track has been a journey, and Fitz’s thoughtful and eloquent insights have made it an even more rewarding experience. I can’t wait to dive into the rest of the albums and report back with more detailed thoughts. Grateful to have such a passionate and articulate music lover in this community.
